Frank Rogers Hired as Siena Heights Men's Lacrosse Coach

ADRIAN, Mich. -- Siena Heights athletic director Sue Syljebeck has announced the hire of Frank Rogers as the SHU head men's lacrosse coach. Rogers has coached on the collegiate level for 14 years and has been a coach of lacrosse for almost 50 years.

"The men's lacrosse team has been a prominent program on our campus since it started," Syljebeck said. "Frank came to the top of our national search and we are thrilled to bring someone with a great deal of experience to continue building our program at Siena Heights."

Rogers has coached 17 collegiate seasons over the past 14 years -- 14 women's seasons and three men's seasons. He began as a college coach as the women's lacrosse coach at Aquinas, where he helped that Saint program win a 2014 WHAC regular-season championship. A foray into NCAA Division II led Rogers through a season at Brevard (N.C.) and three years at Montevallo (Ala.) before he landed back in the NAIA as both the men's and women's coach at Saint Ambrose (Iowa).

While with Ambrose, Rogers coached the Fighting Bees' men's team to the 2021 NAIA Invitational. He spent last season, the 2022 year, with the newly-created women's team at Warner (Fla.).

A U.S. Army veteran, Rogers graduated from now-defunct Eisenhower College, which resided in Seneca Falls, N.Y. He is a native of central New York.

"I'm really excited about this opportunity to come back to Michigan and be part of an outstanding school that I've coached against and have had my daughters play against," Rogers said. "It's exciting to be part of the academic and athletic traditions that we have here and to carry on the traditions and legacy of (former coach) Ed Maloney."
