#7 Men's Lacrosse Overcomes Early Deficit in Win over Taylor

UPLAND, Ind. -- The seventh-ranked Siena Heights men's lacrosse team overcame an early three-goal deficit to take a 13-11 victory over Taylor in WHAC action on Thursday.

Jake Gallaher, Alex Lawson and Ethan Wissink scored three goals each to lead the Saints (4-3, 2-1). Devin Plemmons had a four-point game with two goals and two assists.

Eric Csizmadia and Jimmy McGrath also had goals. Csizmadia made two assists and McGrath contributed one.

Rolando Robison went 13 of 18 on the faceoff. Wissink and Gallaher led the way in groundballs with six apiece while winning goalie Jakob Moske had nine saves.

Taylor jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first 5:30 before Lawson notched a pair of late first-quarter goals. Plemmons tied the game with a man-up goal early in the second.

The teams battled to a 5-5 halftime tie. SHU took the lead for good with two goals in the first 38 seconds of the second half by Wissink and Lawson.

Taylor trimmed its deficit to one on four occasions after that, but the lead held for the Saints.

Wyatt Marshall led the Trojans (2-7, 0-4) with four goals.

SHU will play next on Saturday when it visits Lawrence Tech for a 5 p.m. game.
