ADRIAN, Mich. – The Siena Heights men's lacrosse team pulled away in a close game through the first three quarters. The Saints (6-4, 5-1 WHAC) scored seven of the game's final nine goals to pull out the five-goal victory over the Cardinals.

Devin Plemmons led SHU with six points after a hat trick and three assists in the contest, including netting the game-winning goal in the third. Jake Gallaher finished with a pair of goals and assists for four points. Eric Csizmadia, Matthew Quillen, and Garnet Potter scored twice. Potter and Jimmy McGrath recorded an assist in the winning effort. Vinnie Jean (W, 6-4) earned his sixth win after making nine saves in net. Fernando Robison was 13-25 in faceoffs with ten ground balls.

Concordia (Mich.) scored in the opening 24 seconds to take a quick 1-0 lead in the game. Quillen knotted things up with his first score of the game off a dish from Potter less than 30 seconds later. Ryan Moore scored his only goal with 8:32 in the first to give SHU its first lead of the game. Three-straight scores by CUAA gave the Cardinals the 4-2 lead as the opening quarter expired.

A fourth-straight goal by Concordia (Mich.) opened the lead to 5-2 with 12:32 left to play in the first half. Gallaher scored off an assist from McGrath to cut the deficit to two before Csizmadia netted a goal to bring the Saints within one of tying things up. Another goal by CUAA put a two-goal cushion on the scoreboard, but Quillen scored again, followed by a man-up tally for Csizmadia as the teams were tied heading into halftime.

Concordia (Mich.) scored to start the third as the visitors took a 7-6 lead with 13:33 on the clock. Potter then scored twice, as did Plemmons, to pull Siena ahead 10-7 as the game moved into the final quarter of regulation.

Just as they had the first three-quarters of the game, the Cardinals scored first in the fourth to cut the SHU lead to two goals, 10-8. However, Siena Heights would hold the opponent scoreless the remainder of the game while adding goals from Gallaher, Plemmons, and Hudnut to seal the 13-8 victory.
