RV Saints Surrender Early Lead to No. 2 Indiana Tech in 15-8 Loss

ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights men's lacrosse team suffered a 15-8 loss at the hands of No. 2 Indiana Tech on Saturday night. Jake Gallaher led the Saints with a hat trick in the losing effort.

Records: Indiana Tech (10-1, 5-0 WHAC), Siena Heights (2-1, 1-1 WHAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Warriors jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first half of the opening quarter. Gallaher put the Saints on the board with a goal at the 7:10 mark. Eric Csizmadia assisted on the play. Indiana Tech tallied a fifth goal to end the first quarter with a 5-1 lead. 

Three more goals to start the second quarter pushed the Warriors' advantage to 8-1 until an unassisted goal from Devin Plemmons cut the lead to six with 4:53 remaining in the first half. Gallaher scored his second goal of the game with 48 seconds left in the half to put things at 9-3 as the game entered the half.

Indiana Tech scored twice to pull ahead, 11-3 until Garnet Potter netted two-straight goals to bring the Saints back within six goals of tying things. Csizmadia tallied a man-up goal to bring the score to 12-6. Gallaher scored with 34 seconds remaining in the 3rd quarter to put the score at 13-7, Warriors. 

Two of the three fourth-quarter goals went to the visitors. Ryan Moore recorded the final score of the game for the Saints. 

TOP SAINTS

• Gallaher added two ground balls to his stat line. 

• Potter scored twice and hauled in two ground balls.

Vinnie Jean (L, 2-1) made 16 saves between the pipes for the Saints. 

THE OPPOSITION

• Nate Langille led the Warriors with three goals and three assists in the game.

• Evan Schuster (W, 3-0) made eight saves to earn the win in net. 

UP NEXT

The Saints will host Lourdes on Monday, April 5 at 7:00 p.m. That game is a make up game that has been postponed twice already this season.
