#5 Men's Lacrosse Contains #6 Cumberlands

CUMBERLAND, Ky. -- The fifth-ranked Siena Heights men's lacrosse team defeated sixth-ranked Cumberlands (Ky.), 9-6, in non-conference action, on Monday.

SHU opened up the scoring in the first half with six unanswered goals, then added one more in each remaining quarter.

Leading the Saints was Shane Lewandowski with four goals and an assist. Chris Acton added two more goals and two assists for SHU. Nathan Lipon, Derek Martin and Danny Kreitzer each tallied one goal.

Defensively, winning goaltender Tyler Hooper stopped nine shots in 59 minutes of action. He was relieved of action for one minute, due to a penalty, by Nicholas Lyons who let in one goal.

For the Patriots (2-2), Luke Wyatt led with three goals as goaltender Dustin Soper made five saves.

The Saints (2-0) will return to action on Wednesday for a 4 p.m. faceoff against Asbury (Ga.) in non-conference action.
