Hooper, Orr Sweep WHAC Men's Lacrosse Weekly Honors

Siena Heights men's lacrosse sophomore goaltender Tyler Hooper and sophomore attack Danny Orr swept the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Players of the Week awards, as announced on Monday.

The Saints faced Aquinas and second-ranked Lourdes (Ohio) last week, winning by scores of 8-5 and 9-8 (OT), respectively. Siena is now 7-3 overall and 2-0 in the WHAC.

Hooper earned the WHAC Defensive Player of the Week award for his shot-stopping performances against Aquinas and Lourdes. Against Aquinas, he had seven saves and shut-out AQ in the second and fourth quarters.

Hooper made two crucial saves in the final 23 seconds of regulation against Lourdes to send the Saints into overtime. He made 13 saves against Lourdes. He averaged a .606 save percentage on the week.

The WHAC Offensive Player of the week went to Orr for his dominating goal-scoring performances for Siena. He scored three goals and one assist against Aquinas, including the game-winner in the fourth quarter.

Orr scored the game-tying goal against Lourdes with 1:54 left in the fourth quarter to help send the Saints into OT. With 00:39 left in the first overtime, Orr finished the game-winner against No. 2 Lourdes. He finished the game with five goals and one assist. Orr had a part in 10 of SHU's 18 goals scored last week.
