Men's Golf Wins WHAC #4, Now Leads WHAC Standings With One Event Remaining

STURGIS, Mich. -- The Siena Heights men's golf team placed first at the fourth Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference jamboree at Klinger Lake -- its second jamboree win of the season -- and moved into first place in the WHAC regular-season standings on Friday.

Ian Martin and Joe Forest placed second and third, respectively. Martin carded a two-under-par 68 on the par-70 course. Forest added a one-under 69.

Also for the Saints, Tim Combs tied for 17th with a 75 while Robert Kowalenko and Parker Ross shot 76s to tie for 26th.

The Saints were followed by second-place Lourdes (Ohio), which had a 289, and third-place Indiana Tech, which scored a 292.

Heading into the day, SHU trailed Davenport by three strokes in the WHAC standings. The Saints now lead the field by five strokes; SHU has a 1,161 through four events while DU has a 1,166.

The WHAC will wait nearly a month before holding its final regular season event -- a Concordia-hosted round at Stonebridge.

Siena Heights will compete next in the Cleary Invitational at Chemung Hills.
