Siena Heights golfer Nicklaus Zanotti was named Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Men's Golfer of the Week, as announced by the league on Monday.
Zanotti and partner Ian Martin tied for the top duo score of 62 at Trine's Venturi Invitational combining for a score of 62 at the tournament, which featured unique rules at Zollner Golf Course in Angola, Ind. Each team had three two-man teams with three different formats. Six holes were played best ball, six holes were played scramble and the final six were played alternate shot-all stroke play. Siena Heights placed first at the Venturi event on Thursday.
Zanotti then tied with teammate Tim Combs with a two-under 70 while helping lead the Saints to leading the Saints to a first-place finish and school-record 286 at the first WHAC jamboree. The event was hosted by Aquinas at Kaufman Golf Course in Wyoming, Mich., on Saturday.
