WYOMING, Mich. -- Tim Combs and Nicklaus Zanotti tied for second individually, leading the Siena Heights men's golf team to a first-place finish and school-record 286 at the first Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference jamboree. The event was hosted by Aquinas at Kaufman Golf Course on Saturday.
Combs and Zanotti shot two-under 70s on the 6,709-yard, par-72 course. Ian Martin tied for fifth with a one-under 71.
Also for the Saints, Robert Kowalenko finished with a 75 and tied for 11. Parker Ross tied for 18th with a 76.
In the team standings, SHU was followed, in order, by Davenport (287), Madonna (292), Northwestern Ohio (299), Cornerstone (307), Indiana Tech (307), Lawrence Tech (311), Lourdes (314), Aquinas (330), Concordia (330) and Marygrove (inc.).
Davenport's Mitchell Wandell was medalist with a three-under 69.
The Saints will return to action on Tuesday at the second WHAC jamboree, which UNOH will host at Delphos Country Club in Delphos, Ohio.
