YPSILANTI, Mich. -- Siena Heights men's golfer Robert Kowalenko earned medalist honors, leading the Saints to a first-place finish in the season's first Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference jamboree, which took place at Eagle Crest Golf Club. A total of 58 golfers from 11 schools competed.

Kowalenko shot a two-under-par 70 on the 6,804-yard, par-72, while teammates Joe Forest and Nick Zanotti carded three-over 75s to tie for fifth. Rounding out the scoring for SHU, Collin Smith tied for 31st with an 83.

Also, Parker Ross tied for 35th with an 85 and Nick Sanscrainte tied for 44th with an 87.

As a team, the Saints had a score of 303, followed by Davenport (305), Northwestern Ohio (309), Madonna (313), Indiana Tech (316), Lawrence Tech (322), Lourdes, Ohio (323), Cornerstone (331), Aquinas (358), Marygrove (363) and Concordia (inc.).

SHU will compete next on Tuesday at Defiance's Jon P. Spiess Memorial.
