Ryan Reid Qualifies for USBC Intercollegiate Nationals With Third-Place Finish at Sectionals

SMYRNA, TNRyan Reid became the first Siena men's bowler to qualify for the USBC Intercollegiate Singles Championship when he competed at the 2021 Intercollegiate Singles Sectional Qualifier on Friday, April 16th. Reid finished with a pin total of 1219 to finish third in the event. The top six finishers qualify for the USBC Intercollegiate Nationals.

"It is always extra special to make history and to be the first to accomplish something," said SHU bowling coach Charles Cain. "Ryan's pay off to his hard work is going to help pu SHU on the national stage. High school kids who follow the USBC Collegiate Championships, as they are looking at schools, will want to look into our university and our program."

TOP FINISHERS

Three other Saint men's bowlers competed at the Sectional. Robert Burcar II placed 53rd tallying 1064 pins. Eric Lambert knocked down 1047 pins finishing 67th. Shane Rusinek had a total of 1009 pins earning 95th place.
