DeGraaf Places First Individually as Men’s Bowling Finishes Second at Halo Invitational

TECUMSEH – The Siena Heights men's bowling team placed second in a five-team field at the inaugural Halo Invitational hosted by the Saints at Ten Pin Alley.

The Saints were in sole possession of the lead following two four-game baker sets with scores of 715 and 747, but fell behind eventual champion Toledo (Ohio) following a 798 second team game.

The Saints rebounded nicely following their 798 with scores of 967, 1,023, 1,006, and 921 to give them a 28-pin advantage over Toledo going into the last set. The Rockets out-bowled the Saints the last game, however, 971-921 to secure a narrow 22-pin victory with a final score of 7,110-7,088. Following the Saints were Adrian (6,691), Rochester (6,399), and Cornerstone (6,145).

Kenneth DeGraaf placed first individually for the Saints in the 44-bowler field, tossing a six-game series of 1,271 (211.83 average), which included games of 237, 226, 268 and 202 to secure his second career individual collegiate title.

Steven Cadwell rolled games of 205 and 222 on his way to a six-game series of 1,136 (189.33 average) and William Shaffran tossed a 216 en route to a 1,108 (184.67) six-game series. Caldwell placed sixth and Shaffran placed seventh.

Also for the Saints, Joshua Criscenti bowled a six-game series of 1,070 (178.33) on his way to a 10th-place finish.

The second-place finish for the men's bowling team marked the highest finish in program history. The Saints will be back at it next weekend with two American-Heartland Conference tournaments at Super Bowl in Canton, Mich.
