GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. -- The Siena Heights men's basketball team has now won two in a row after the win at Aquinas in WHAC action on Saturday afternoon.

Colin Nutter tallied a double-double and was the leading scorer for the Saints with 21 points and 10 rebounds. The other double-double came from Shawn Brown with 13 points and 15 rebounds.

Off the bench, Gavin Sluss got hot from the three-point line, as he went 4/5 and tallied 15 total points.

In the first half, Aquinas had a 29-20 lead and was in control for the majority of the first half. It was not until the second half that the Saints regained the lead at 38-37 at the 13:30 mark after Colin Nutter made a layup. The last lead the Saints had was 18-17 with 7:01 left to go in the first half. To end the second half it was very even. At the 1:32 mark, Shawn Brown made two free throws to put the Saints up two at 60-58, and on the ensuing Aquinas possession, Aquinas made a layup to tie the game 60-60 and that was the score heading into overtime.

In the first overtime, the teams traded baskets and the game was still undecided at 69-69.

In the second overtime, the Saints jumped out to a 5-0 start after Shawn Brown made two free throws and Gavin Sluss hit a three to put the Saints up two possessions at 74-69 with 3:46 left. Aquinas did not give up though as an 8-2 run for Aquinas occurred to take a 77-76 lead. After a few defensive stops, the Saints got the ball back, and with 0:21 seconds left, Delano Williams made a three-pointer to put the Saints up for good at 79-77. After a defensive stop and Delano Williams rebound, the Saints came out victorious against WHAC conference opponent Aquinas.

SHU will return to action on Wednesday, Jan. 24, as the Lourdes Grey Wolves will come into town. Tip-off will follow the Women's Basketball game at 8:00 PM.
