Men's Basketball Rolls Past Umich-Dearborn

ADRIAN, Mich. -- Colin Nutter led the Saints in scoring with 25 points, perfect from the floor, and came down with eight rebounds to lead the Saints to a 100-56 victory over Umich-Dearborn on Wednesday January, 10th.

Along with Nutter, Jonny Bowers came off the bench and added 15 points along with nine rebounds.

The Saints (6-9, 3-6), trailed 12-6 in the first six minutes, then never looked back after they took the lead at 15-14 at the 10 minute mark, to then end up leading at halftime 37-24.

In the second half, SHU continued to dominate of the defensive side as they held a 22-9 advantage in the early second half to ultimately put the final nail on the coffin. Graduate Assistant Coach Aaron Herbst said that " I thought we competed hard, and have a big game on Saturday against Lawrence Tech, it starts on the defensive end. Our identity is defense first and we did a good job on getting out in transition tonight."

On the floor, the Saints shot 58.6% from the floor, 31.6% from three, dominated the glass more than doubling the rebounds holding the advantage at 53-26. Defensively, the stifling Saints defense held Michigan-Dearborn to 27.1%, 29% from three, and forced 13 turnovers.

SHU will play next as Lawrence Tech will come to town on Saturday, January 13.
