Men's Basketball Outlasts Cleary

LANSING, MICH. -- The Siena Heights Men's Basketball team traveled to Lansing, Mich., and came out victorious in a nail-biter game 55-54. Jonny Bowers led the day for the Saints with 18 points and seven rebounds. Jonas Tester also had a solid day for the Saints with 15 points and six rebounds. Off the bench, Max Moratinos had seven points and four rebounds. 

The game was as back and forth as any game so far this season for the Saints. In the first half, the Saints never had a lead of more than four points, when the Saints had a 29-25 with 43 seconds to go. At the half, the Saints had a one-point lead. 

In the second half, it was the same, the largest lead in the game, and the half was four points when the Saints had a 45-41 lead with eight minutes to go in the game. With 2:39 left in the game, Cleary tied the game, at 52-52, until Jonas Tester hit a three to put the Saints up 55-52 with 1:42 left to go in the game, then Cleary's Cole Williams hit a jumper to pull Cleary to within one at 55-54 1:16 to go. With four seconds to go, Brent Wiles corralled a key rebound to secure the rebound for the Saints to secure the 55-54 victory to advance to 4-2 (2-2 in conference play) on the season.
