Men's Basketball Rallies to Blow by UNOH 86-70

ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights Men's Basketball team came out victorious, winning 86-70. Colin Nutter led the day for the Saints with 23 points and 11 rebounds, along with going 9-14 from the field and 5-6 from the free throw line. On the starting five, Brent Wiles nearly had a double-double with 13 points and nine rebounds. Off the bench, Jonny Bowers had seven points and eight rebounds. 

In the first seven minutes of the game, the Saints jumped out to a 13-9 lead. Then in the next five minutes, Northwestern-Ohio went on a 13-4 run heading into the under eight media timeout. To end the half, the Racers did not take the foot off of the gas as they went into halftime with a 42-31 lead with a buzzer beater three to end the first half. 

To start the second half, Colin Nutter made a dunk to pull the Saints within singe digits. Then after a technical foul, the Racers hit two free throws to put Northwestern-Ohio back up by 11. On the following possession, the Racers took their largest lead of the game at 46-33 with 18:14 to go in the game. 

Coming out of the timeout, the Saints hit a crucial three by Brent Wiles, and from there the Saints cruised to victory. After the three by Wiles, the Saints went on a 17-2 run. At the 13th minute mark, the Saints did not slow down as they continued on this scoring spurt by dominating the Racers to a 86-70 victory. 

On the glass, the Saints dominated that battle 51-26. The Saints also had 17 turnovers and shot 36.4% from the three point line and 47.4 % from the field. 

NEXT UP, The Men's Basketball team will travel to Lansing, Mich. at Gannon Gymnasium to take on the Cleary Cougars at 7:30 PM.
