Men's Basketball Falls To Madonna

ADRIAN, Mich. – The Siena Heights Men's Basketball Team fell to Madonna in a WHAC Conference matchup by a score of 82-65.

The Saints started off the game with a 9-2 run over the first four minutes of play. Madonna responded with a 13-5 run over the next three minutes to take their first lead.  The Saints held one more lead at 16-15 as the first half continued to stay close.  Madonna started to create some distance with six minutes left in the half, extending their lead to seven points.  A three point basket at the end of the half increased the Madonna lead to nine points going into the break.

The second half saw Madonna continue to add to their lead, getting it to a 19 point lead before SHU battled back.  The Saints were able to creep back to within seven points with nine minutes left in the game, however Madonna once again pulled away down the stretch, pushing the lead to a high of 21 points before the Saints scored the game's final five points to create the final score of 82-65.

Four Saints scored in double digits, led by Luis Young who had 15 points.  Davin Walker and Curtis Bell III added twelve points each, with Colin Nutter adding ten points.  Bell led the team with eight rebounds, Young, Nutter, and Bell each had two assists with Jonas Tester leading the team with two steals.

UP NEXT – The Saints will return to action on Saturday when they host Rochester University for a 3 pm tip off.
