Comeback Effort Falls Short For Men's Hoops at Adrian

ADRIAN, MICH. – In their annual cross town rival game with Adrian College, a comeback effort by the Saints came up just short, losing by a final score 60-58.

The game started with a 6-0 Bulldog run before the Saints scored their first points just over four minutes into the game.  Siena Heights took their first lead just over nine minutes into the game with a Curtis Bell III layup.  With the score 20-18 in favor of Adrian, the Bulldogs went on an 8-0 run over the next three plus minutes.  The first half ended with a nine point Bulldog lead.

With the Saints down 13 with only eight and a half minutes left in the game, a 11-0 run over the next two plus minutes brought the lead down to a basket. The game remained close with the lead varying from one to four points over the final six minutes.  Adrian had a four point lead with 48 seconds left, Bell hit two free throws to bring the game back to a two point lead.  A turnover by the Bulldogs gave the Saints the ball back with 18 seconds remaining, a last second shot came up short, and the Saints fell by two points.

Curtis Bell III led all teams with 22 points on the night.  Davin Walker chipped in 13 points for the Saints.  The Saints were out-shot 40% to 30% on the night.  Bell also led the Saints with seven rebounds, Luis Young led the team with three assists.

UP NEXT – The Saints will take a small break for Thanksgiving before returning to action on Saturday when they host Miami-Middletown at noon.
