SHU Men's Basketball Falls in the Battle of the Saints

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Siena Heights men's basketball team competed in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference game on the road against, the Aquinas College Saints. Siena held an 81.8% free throw percentage shooting 18-22 while picking up 35 rebounds. SHU fell short in the battle of the Saints ending the game 72-80. 

Landon Links paved the way for Siena totaling 17 points and shooting 5-10 from the floor. Davin Walker racked up 16 points, four rebounds, and three assists during the game. As Curtis Bell III tallied 11 points, nine rebounds, and six steals. Jonas Tester was the fourth Saints to reach double-digit points putting up 10 total along with two assists.

Jeremiah Jolliffi started things off for SHU putting the first two points on the board. Siena struggled to run their offense during the first half, with the longest run being five points. Going into the half the score was 24-37.

The Siena Heights Saints would rally in the second, chipping away at the Aquinas lead, piecing together points down low and from the line. SHU fought back, putting up seven straight points in the final minutes. However, Siena was unable to overcome the point deficit from the first half ending the game 72-80.
