SHU found its rhyme early on with a run of eleven to start the game making the score 11-2. The run consisted of the Saints' top four scorers shooting from all over the floor, with three-point shots, layups, and free throws. The Siena Heights Men's Basketball team traded baskets until Jayden Sims hit three back-to-back threes to start a run of sixteen. The run left SHU up 32-24 and ended with a dunk from Curtis Bell III. With 5:13 remaining in the opening frame, Kevin Rice hit a three to kick off another 16-point run for the blue and yellow. The second half started with a run from Aquinas College to creep in on Siena Heights University's lead. The run of twelve brought the difference in score to only seven points. From then on, the chess match began, trading baskets and turnovers the two teams fought for control. SHU fought to maintain its lead and Aquinas fought to close the lead and takeover. It looked as though Aquinas may tie the game until a three from Elijah Bell snapped a short run, returning playing back into a battle for dominance. Throughout the entire second half, Aquinas chipped away at the Saint's lead until the game was tied at 78 with just under two minutes to play. It took a three-point shot from Graham for SHU to take back the lead and a game-saving block from Kevin Rice to win the game, with the final score of 81-80.
