SYLVANIA, Ohio -- The Siena Heights Saints fought a tough battle in the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center Wednesday night against the Lourdes University Grey Wolves. SHU Men's Basketball fell 76-58 to the Wolves to bring the Saints overall record to 4-12 for the season.

Curtis Bell III led the SHU with 16 points on 6-9 shooting from the floor. He also stacked up eight rebounds, seven of which were defensive. Kevin Rice added to the Saints' score with his 6-11 field goals to add 12 points. Rice also had seven rebounds and four blocks. Jayden Sims can't be forgotten with his 10 points to help Siena Heights fight against the Grey Wolves.

The Blue and Yellow found its first basket a minute and forty seconds into the first half to start the battle with a tie score. Until taking the lead early and then trading blows with Lourdes throughout the rest of the first half. A battle of the rebounds was a crucial element of the first half and allowed the Saints to keep chipping away at the small deficit. The rebounding game helped SHU's six-point run late in the first half to take back the lead. After exchanging blows for the last five minutes, the visiting Siena Heights Saints only trailed 33-29 at the end of the first half.

Entering the second half, ready to finish the fight, SHU kept chipping away slowly at the Lourdes lead. The battle continued back-and-forth until the light showed for the Saints when they kicked off a seven-point run nine minutes into the second half, bringing them within two points of the Grey Wolves. However, the home team answered right back with a nice run of their own, pulling away from the visitors for the game's largest lead. Hoping to stay in the fight, SHU answered with a four-point run of their own to bring the score to 63-52 in favor of the home team. And even though the battle was tough, the Blue and Yellow never stopped fighting for the win, with a few late threes near the end of the game. Unfortunately, the final buzzer halted any rally from the Saints.
