Jon Hovermale Named NAIA-Daktronics All-Academic for Men's Basketball Division II

KANSAS CITY -- Siena Heights men's basketball junior Jon Hovermale (Livonia, Mich.) was selected the NAIA-Daktronics All-Academic men's basketball Division II team as announced by the national office this afternoon. 

This is Hovermale's first time being named to the NAIA All-Academic team during his career. The 2019 list features 179 student-athletes that achieved at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average (GPA) at their institution. In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, must appear on the eligibility certificate for the sport and have attended two full years as a non-transfer or one full year as a transfer.

Among WHAC member schools, Rochester had the most student-athletes make the list with five. Indiana Tech and Madonna followed with three each. Aquinas had two student-athletes on the team while Siena Heights, Cornerstone, and Lourdes each had one.
