Saints Win Thrilling Game in OT

Adrian, Mich. -- The Siena Heights men's basketball team win a thrilling game in overtime to beat Madonna.

THE BASICS

Final Score: Siena Heights 84, Lourdes 80

Location: Adrian, Mich. (Fred Smith Court)

Records: Siena Heights (8-4, 6-1 WHAC), Madonna (8-4, 3-3 WHAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED

Siena and Madonna battled back and forth for the first 5 minutes of the game but then Madonna went on a scoring run to go up on the Saints by 7. Saints started gaining ground back as they were able to tie it back up. SHU shot 6-6 at the free throw line in the first half. Jaquantay Rouser came off the bench to score 5. Madonna would push ahead and head into the locker room for halftime with a score of 29-25.

The second half would add a thrilling factor to the game as both teams were shooting over 50% of FGM. Madonna would go up on Siena by 9 and would keep that lead for majority of the second half. SHU would start their comeback with 3 minutes left in the game as they got some fast break point and clutch 3 point shooting. With the Saints down 3 with 9 seconds, PJ Austin made a deep 3 point shot to tie the game and head into overtime.

In OT, the game was tied with 50 seconds to go. Keith Jordon Jr. made a layup to put Siena up by 2 and the Saints held on to the lead to win the game.
