Winowiecki Helps Men's Basketball Top Northwestern Ohio in WHAC Action

LIMA, Ohio -- The Siena Heights men's basketball team defeated Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference opponent Northwestern Ohio, 65-63, on Wednesday with help from a Josh Winowiecki double-double.

The Racers jumped out to a quick 18-9 lead over the Saints with 9:35 remaining in the first half. SHU fought back, taking a 26-25 lead with 1:27 remaining in the first, but left the first half trailing 30-28 to the Racers.

SHU jumped out to a quick lead in the second half and were able to hold on to earn the 65-63 victory.

Leading Siena Heights was Winowiecki with 15 points and 14 rebounds as Keith Jordan Jr. tallied 14 points and six rebounds. Nick Randle scored 12 points for the Saints while adding six assists. Tony Jackson II also scored 12 points for SHU. For UNOH, Sadeeq Bello was the lone Racer to score in double-digits, earning 12 points.

As a team, SHU went 22-52 (42.3%) from the floor, 3-13 (23.1%) behind the arc and 18-20 (90.0%) from the free throw line. UNOH managed 24-56 (42.9%) overall, making 9-20 (45.0%) in three-point land and 6-10 (60.0%) from the charity stripe.

Next up, Siena Heights will travel to Lawrence Tech for a 3 p.m. WHAC contest on Saturday.
