Men's Hoops Drop a Close Contest to UNOH

ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights men's basketball team lost a close decision to Northwestern Ohio 56-63, on Saturday

The Saints (9-18, 5-14) jumped out to a quick seven point lead to start the game. The game went back and forth through the first half, the Racers taking the lead 38-29 going into halftime.

Northwestern Ohio held the lead for the remainder of the game. The Saints came was within one point with 5:10 to go, coming off of a Myles Copeland steal and two made foul shots.

Copeland finished with 10 points, three steals, and went 4-4 from the line. Senior George Goodman lead both teams in scoring, netting 21 points and five rebounds. Tony Jackson had 10 rebounds with eight points.

Lawrence Jackson lead the Racers (8-19, 5-14) in scoring with 19 points, three steals, and four ebounds. Ray Beatty had 16 points. Willis Mackey grabbed 6 boards. 

As a team, the Saints shot 20-51 (39.2 percent) while the Racers shot 25-53 (47.2 percent).

The Saints will take the court again on Wednesday, at 7:30 p.m. when they travel to Madonna.
