Strong Second Half Not Enough for Men's Hoops

DEARBORN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights men's basketball team dropped a 73-71 conference contest against Michigan-Dearborn on Saturday.

The Saints trailed 29-23 going into halftime. Siena Heights outscored the Wolverines 48-46 in the second half, but it wasn't enough.

George Goodman lead the Saints with 23 points. Jerrel Martin finished with a double-double, 10 points and 11 rebounds. Off the bench, E.J. Finch drained three three-pointers, finishing with 13 points.

For the Wolverines (13-13, 8-10), Marcus Williams finished with 31 points.

Overall, the Saints shot 25-60 (41.7 percent) on the floor and 9-16 (56.3 percent) from three-point land. Michigan-Dearborn finished 27-57 (47.4 percent) from the field and 4-11 (36.4 percent) behind the arc.

Siena Heights (9-17, 5-13) will be back in action on Wednesday. The Saints will host Aquinas for an 8 p.m. tip-off. The local television station in Toledo, Buckeye Cable Sports Network, will be filming the game.
