Men's Basketball Coaches Participate in "Coaches vs. Cancer"

The Siena Heights men's basketball team is set to participate in the annual National Association of Basketball Coaches "Coaches vs. Cancer" Sneakers & Suits week. The staff will be wearing sneakers to show its support during Wednesday and Saturday's events.

This is a national event that the staff is taking part in. The coaches will wear sneakers with their suits to demonstrate their support for the American Cancer Society and its vision of a world with less cancer and more birthdays. Basketball fans are encouraged to also wear sneakers to games that week to show their support.

Coach Pechota reflected, "I'm proud to be an active member of the NABC for 21 years and support all the causes that our organization supports. The Coaches vs. Cancer campaign, specially our Sneakers & Suits games, are ones that all of us as coaches use to continue to bring awareness and raise funds to beat this disease.  Cancer is a disease that has unfortunately impacted all of our lives directly or indirectly."

"As a community, both on our campus at Siena Heights and within the city of Adrian, we need to continue to reach out to those that are going through the battle against cancer and support any way that we can. While also continuing to support and recognize those who have won the battle against this dreaded disease."
