Copeland Double-Double Helps Men's Hoops to Victory

ADRIAN, Mich. -- Myles Copeland's double-double of 18 points and 10 rebounds led the Siena Heights men's basketball team to a 101-69 victory over non-conference opponent Great Lakes Christian at the SHU Fieldhouse, on Saturday.

Tony Jackson II added a season-high 18 points and eight rebounds while Stone Beckwith and E.J. Finch both added 14 points a piece for the Saints (5-8, 2-5). Michael Fomby added 11 points and three assists.

SHU's largest lead in the first half was 22 points with two minutes left. The Lakes (0-22) went on a 10-2 run in the final two minutes, leaving the second half 43-29, Saints' lead.

A three-pointer by Fomby opened up the Saints' scoring in the second half and SHU extended their lead for the remainder of the game.

As a team, Siena Heights finished with 25 assists. Jackson and Copeland finished 8 of 10 and 7-13 from the field, respectively. SHU finished 41-76 (53.9 percent).

SHU comitted eight turnovers to GLCC's 12 giveaways.

Anthony Kiminski had 26 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Lakes. Ezra Beckwith added 15 points and three boards.

The Saints will return to action on Tuesday with a 6 p.m. WHAC contest, hosting nationally-ranked Cornerstone.
