Men's Basketball Loses to Michigan-Dearborn

ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights men's basketball team lost 63-52 to Michigan-Dearborn in a conference match-up, on Saturday.

Michigan-Dearborn maintained control the majority of the first half, taking their lead up to 13 points with 4:47 left. The Saints brought the lead down--leaving the half, trailing, 29-23.

Siena Heights came within one point of the lead, 35-34, with 13:49 remaining on the game clock. The Saints were unable to shutdown Wolverines' Marcus Williams, who finished the game with 18 points, to earn the win.

Christopher Pearl was the leading scorer for SHU (4-8, 2-5). He finished with 10 points. Jerell Martin was the top rebounder for the Saints, finishing with 10 rebounds, eight points and two blocks.

Anthony Barley and Alex Hagel added on ten points a piece for the Wolverines (6-7, 2-5).

The Saints shot 22-64 (34.4 percent) from the floor, 2-16 (12.5 percent) from behind the arch and 6-9 (66.7 percent) from the charity stripe, overall. Michigan-Dearborn shot 20-51 (39.2 percent) from the floor, 10-20 (50.0 percent) from three-point land and 13-16 (81.3 percent) in free throws.

SHU will be back on the court next Saturday. The Saints will host Great Lakes Christian at 1 p.m.
