Fifteen Football Student-Athletes Named Scholar Athletes

The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced the 2022 Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athletes award.  The Siena Heights Football Program had fifteen student-athletes earn these distinctions.

In order to be nominated for the NAIA Scholar-Athlete, an individual must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, must appear on the eligibility certificate for the sport, and have attended one full year.

Earning the award for the Saints was:

Nico Fernandez (1st time), junior, business major from Wyandotte, Michigan

Jack Fitzgerald (1st time), junior, business major from Sandusky, Ohio

Wyatt Howe (1st time), junior, nursing major from Mason, Michigan

Zach Keyser (1st time), junior, business major from Battle Creek, Michigan

Jacob Lederman (4th time), senior, business major from Grand Blanc, Michigan

Andrew Lyons (3rd time), senior, criminal justice major from Flint, Michigan

Nik Martin (1st time), junior, business major from Fort Wayne, Indiana

Justin McCown (3rd time), senior, business major from Sterling Heights, Michigan

Kole Murlin (3rd time), senior, education major from Celina, Ohio

Weston Palmer (1st time), junior accounting major from Flint, Michigan

Kabe Sykora (2nd time), junior, biology major from Marshall, Michigan

Nick Turchiano (2nd time), junior, sport management major from Cincinnati, Ohio

Walter Turner Jr. (2nd time) junior, psychology major from Carlson, Michigan

Theodore Verner (2nd time) junior, business major from Clawson, Michigan
