INDIANAPOLIS – The Siena Heights football team struggled in a 24-2 loss on the road to seventh-ranked Marian on Saturday afternoon.

Michael Guyton led the offense with four catches for 43 yards. Andrew McGaughy led the defense with nine tackles. Antonio Simley and Cosey Goff each registered eight stops in the losing effort. The Saints' pass rush was held at bay by the Knights' offensive line with zero sacks in the game. The Saints' offense struggled to stay on the field as they went 3-for-14 on third downs.

Marian hopped to a 3-0 lead in the first quarter with a 41-yard field goal. The Knights added a touchdown before the first quarter ended to move the margin to 10-0. A 36-yard pick-six extended the lead to 17-0 to start the second stanza. A final score put things at 24-0 with 10:33 left in the first half.

The SHU defense held Marian scoreless for the remainder of the game. A penalty led to a safety in the third quarter to put the Saints on the board and prevented the shutout, as the score would be 24-2 when the clock expired in the fourth quarter.
