ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights football team earned its third win in the Mid-States Football Association (MSFA) Mideast League play with a 34-14 win over Lawrence Tech on Saturday afternoon. Eric Williams II had a monster performance with two touchdowns between his seven catches, 176 yards, and one rush for 36 yards on the afternoon. The Saints improve to 3-1 in MSFA Mideast to tie with Taylor for third in the standings.

SHU got off to a hot start with an onside kick recovering on the opening kickoff that gave Siena Heights the ball on the Lawrence Tech 32-yard line. Anthony Secchi put SHU on the board after a 47-yard field goal put Siena up 3-0. Kaleb Jefferson put the finishing touches on the next drive with a two-yard scamper to extend the lead to 10-0. The Blue Devils responded with a 22-yard touchdown pass two drives later that cut the home team advantage to a field goal with just over five minutes remaining in the first quarter.

Lawrence Tech took a 14-10 lead in the second question with a one-yard touchdown run that capped an eight-play, 85-yard drive. Secchi made another field goal, this one from 23 yards out, to cut the lead to one point with 6:36 left in the first half. Williams II regained the lead for the Saints after a second onside kick was recovered on the Blue Devil 36-yard line. Williams II took the pitch from Jamon Benson II on a reverse into the endzone after a 36-yard gain to put the score at 20-14, where it would remain through halftime.

Williams II extended the lead with the only score in the third quarter, this time through the air with a 24-yard touchdown pass from Ryan Minor. The touchdown from Minor to Williams II happened with 4:46 left in the third stanza.

Minor put the nail in the coffin with a quarterback keeper on the one-yard line that was set up by a 73-yard pass to Williams II. The Saints' defense then took over as they stopped Lawrence Tech's next two drives to allow the offense to run the ball and kill the clock.

Minor finished 12-20 passing for 209 yards and a touchdown. Benson II compiled 12 carries for 49 yards. Kaleb Jefferson recorded 18 carries for 42 yards. Michael Guyton hauled in three catches for 23 yards. Kole Murlin led the way defensively with 13 tackles, two sacks, and three tackles for loss. Vincent Walker spent the afternoon in the LTU backfield as he compiled a sack and batted down three passes with his pressure. Secchi was 2-2 in field goals and 4-4 in extra-point tries. Andrew Bookman recorded a season-high 66-yard punt in the game.
