Football Looks to Earn a Win Against Lawrence Tech This Week

THE GAME
The #22 Saints look to get back on track after a 0-2 start on the season. This week's matchup is against the Lawrence Tech Blue Devils.
 
Last Matchup
The Saints won the first meeting between the two teams, 41-20, during the 2019 season. 
 
Siena held a 21-0 lead at halftime. That lead proved to be the difference in the game and helped the Saints improve to a 6-1 record. Tyler Knecht led SHU with 19-27 passing for 242 yards and four touchdowns.
 
Leading the Saints in 2020-21
Tyler Knecht leads the Saints under center with 19-30 for 213 yards passing. He has also dished a touchdown in his one start. Justin McCown was 12-22 for 126 yards and a touchdown in his one start this season. Jared Jordan leads the ground game with 25 carries for 119 yards. He led the Saints in receiving yards with eight catches for 71 yards. He has a total of 12 grabs for 83 this season. Eric Williams is the leading wideout with eight catches for 124 yards and a touchdown.
 
Defensively, SHU is led by Kole Murlin in tackles with 23. Trenton Morrow has 19 stops and an interception to his credit. Gabe Callery has 18 tackles and Daneille Lowe Jr. has 12, one tackle for loss. As a team, the Saints are 12th in the NAIA in total defense.
 
Eric Williams is the primary kick return specialist with a team-high 78 kick-return yards. Caleb Meister has punted 12 times for 445 yards (37.1 avg) this year. His season-long is 55 yards. Anthony Secchi is 1-3 in field goal attempts. His longest thus far is a 25-yarder he made last week at Indiana Wesleyan.

Leading Lawerence Tech
Leading the ground game is Ben Brittain with 14 carries for 63 yards (4.5 avg). Tyler Kutka leads the air attack with 19-35 passing for 267 yards and two touchdowns. He is also second on the team in rushing with 56 yards on 10 carries. Kendyl Williams has a team-high six catches for 99 yards and a touchdown to lead the wideouts. Terrel Cunningham has four catches for 94 yards this season.

TJ Gunter is the team's leading tackler with 12 total stops. Tommy Lappin leads the Blue Devils with three tackles for loss and a sack. He has the second-most tackles with nine along with Mitch Waters. Waters also registered a sack this season.

Avery Burch has five punts for 145 yards. His season-long is 40 yards. Brittain has return five kicks for 130 yards and three punts for 19 yards.
