Football has 16 Honored as MSFA Scholar-Athletes

The Seina Heights football team had 16 individuals honored on the Mid-States Football Association All-Academic team, as announced on Thursday.

Leading the group with an accumulative 4.0 GPA were sophomores Kyler Hubbs and Brady Tanguay. Hubbs majors in nursing while Tanguay focuses his studies in math. Only six MSFA members held a 4.0, SHU the only school with two 4.0 honorees out of the total 13 MSFA schools.

Two-time honorees include seniors Jordan Riley, Stefan Wilkinson, Martin Giannola and Cha'Quan D. Love. Riley and Love major in sport management while Wilkinson studies mathematics and Gianolla law & politics.

The lone marketing major from SHU on the All-Academic team is senior Cordell Crosby.

Juniors from Siena Heights earning All-Academic MSFA honors were Braelen Bader, Brad Harrah, Zachary Flack, Ronnie Giles Jr. and Jesse Stires.

Sophomores include Izayah Newsom, Logan Waller, Vince Pospisil and Kris Grodi.

Future accountants may include Newsom, Walker and Giles while Harrah and Flack major in business administration. Bader majors in art.

In the sciences, Pospisil majors in biology, Grodi in engineering and Stires in math.

To be eligible for this award, the athlete must reach sophomore standing academically and maintain a 3.20 accumulative GPA. In the 13 member schools from the MSFA, 189 men received this honor.
