ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The Siena Heights football team suffered its first loss of the season against conference-rival Concordia. The Saints fell 41-0 against the Mid-States Football Association Mideast League opponent, on Saturday.

D'aries Davis led the Saints with 10 rushes for 48 yards, followed by Dont'e Fox who had eight carries for 44 yards.

SHU quarterback Garrett Schaller rushed for 16 yards with 8 rushes. Schaller went 0 for 4 in his passing attempts.

Nick Gilliam went 14 for 23 in passing attempts, allowing one interception. Gilliam threw for 139 yards for the Saints.

Deontae' Rush made three catches for 26 yards for SHU. Fox made two catches for 22 Saints' yards.

Defensively, Da'vonte Price led the Saints with six unassisted and six assisted tackles. Nate Yeloushan made nine total tackles for Siena Heights, four unassisted and five assisted.

SHU's Cha'Quan Love totaled five tackles while Nyshaun Marks made four total tackles.

The Saints held Concordia to one touchdown in the first quarter and two in the second. All three scores were made on the ground.

Concordia's quarterback Seth Suida connected with two different Cardinals to start of the second half. The final touchdown of the day was made by Tyler Fehler who made a one yard run in for the Cardinals. Brayden Bennett went 5 of 6 on extra point attempts for CUAA.

CUAA's defense was led by Kaleb Pohlman who made four unassisted and six assisted tackles.
Siena Heights' total offense was 178 yards in 63 plays. CUAA managed 304 yards on the SHU defense in 58 plays.

The Saints' offense lost two fumbles and allowed one interception, while the SHU defense forced and recovered a Cardinal fumble.

Siena Heights will return home for their next contest against MSFA crossover opponent, ninth-ranked Saint Xavier (Ill.). The contest is slated for a 6 p.m. kickoff on Saturday, Sept. 24.
