Doriot Breaks Own Record in Football's Win over TIU

ADRIAN, Mich. -- Siena Heights wide receiver Aaron Doriot had 180 receiving yards, breaking his own single-game school record, as the Saints' football team won their home finale, 44-20, over Trinity International (Ill.) in a Mid-States Football Association crossover game on Saturday at O'Laughlin Stadium.

Doriot finished with six receptions -- two for touchdowns -- and exceeded his previous mark of 165, which he set Sept. 5 against Lindenwood-Belleville (Ill.).

Quarterback Lucas Barner Jr. completed 22 of 37 passes for 398 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. Wide-out Reggie Blackmon added eight catches for 112 yards while running back D'aries Davis was the team's leading rusher with 15 carries for 54 yards.

On the other side of the ball, defensive back Darius Price had two interceptions while fellow DB DeShawn Gilbert returned one pick 33 yards for a touchdown.

Defensive back Da'vonte Price had eight total tackles and linebacker Angelo Whittis finished with seven stops. Defensive lineman Malik Edwards recorded two tackles-for-loss, including a sack. Linebacker Nate Yeloushan also had a sack.

Running back Dont'e Fox scored SHU's only touchdown in the first half, scoring on a two-yard rush, as the Saints trailed 13-10 at halftime.

From there, Siena Heights rattled off 31 straight points. Barner found Doriot on 24- and 13-yard TD connections. Barner added a two-yard touchdown run and Gilbert had his 33-yard interception return.

The Saints (4-5) will finish their regular season on Saturday, Nov. 14, with a trip to nationally-ranked Marian (Ind.).
