Football Headed to #9 Saint Xavier on Saturday

THE GAME
The Siena Heights football team will visit ninth-ranked Saint Xavier (Ill.) in a Mid-States Football Association crossover game on Sept. 26. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. EST (1 p.m. CST).

The Saints are coming off a 28-27 home loss to MSFA Mideast opponent Concordia on Sept. 12. On that same day, the Cougars defeated then-No. 20 Webber International (Fla.), 37-34.

THE COACHES
Jim Lyall (Michigan '74) is in his fifth season as head coach for Siena Heights, where he now has a 17-16 varsity record. He is 121-108-1 all-time as a collegiate varsity football coach. During SHU's 2011 club season, Lyall went 8-1. He was previously the head coach at Adrian, where he compiled a 103-92-1 varsity slate. In 2014, Lyall was named MSFA Mideast Coach of the Year after guiding the Saints to their first conference championship.

Mike Feminis (Saint Francis, Ill. '90) is in his 17th year as head coach for Saint Xavier. He is 147-51 all-time as a collegiate varsity football coach. Prior to becoming SXU's head coach, he was a linebacker coach and defensive coordinator for his alma mater, Saint Francis (Ill.). Feminis was named 2011 NAIA Coach of the Year and, as a player, was the 1989 NAIA Defensive Player of the Year.

All Siena Heights football games will be webcast on the Siena Heights Sports Network, which can be accessed via the Stretch Internet link on WWW.SHUSAINTS.COM. Live stats can be followed online at WWW.SHUSAINTS.COM.

SHSN will provide live video for each Saint home game. Play-by-play is normally called by Eric Iden with Donovan Campbell providing color commentary, although, Chris Renwick will make his SHSN debut as play-by-play caller for the Saint Xavier game. Campbell will remain on color commentary.

Iden is in his second year with the Saints broadcast team while Campbell, a Siena Heights alum, is in his first season.

SHSN and WLEN 103.9 FM have also enjoyed a five-year partnership. All games will be audio-streamed online at WLEN.COM while select games will be broadcasted live on the radio.

The Saints will have a bye week before they visit nationally-ranked Saint Francis (Ind.) in a Mid-States Football Association Mideast League game on Saturday, Oct. 10, at 12 p.m.

USF is currently 3-0 with a 1-0 record in the MSFA Mideast League. The Cougars of Fort Wayne own victories over Olivet Nazarene (Ill.), Taylor (Ind.) and Trinity International (Ill.).

Saint Francis, which is currently 14th on the NAIA poll, will meet Lindenwood-Belleville (Ill.) and Marian (Ind.) for a pair of MSFA Mideast games before SHU travels to Fort Wayne.
