Weekly Recap: Rocket League, Hearthstone, and Smash Bros. Compete

ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights Esports Rocket League, Hearthstone, and Super Smash Bros. teams competed this week.

Rocket League had a trio of matches this week, starting with a Week 3 matchup in NACE against Butler University. Saints took the series in straight sets, 3-0, winning games 2-1, 3-1, and 6-1. This keeps Saints RL undefeated this spring season, 2-0, with their next NACE match being Monday, February 14th against Cleary University at 7 pm. RL also competed in Week 1 of their UGC Collegiate Spring season with a pair of matches. In match one against GFU, the Saints took the series in straight sets on Wednesday night. Then, RL took on New Haven University on Thursday night and took the series in straight sets, 3-0, to stay undefeated in pool play heading into Week 2. Saints will go head-to-head with Michigan Tech University, and St. Mary's in the week two competition.

Saints Hearthstone had a pair of matches in the Alterac Valley Qualifier held by Gamebattles. On Monday, the Saints dropped their series to the University of Miami, 1-3, after the opening game. The Saints returned for qualifier play on Thursday night and took the win over Claw Gaming, 3-0, to improve to a record of 3-3 with two weeks remaining before playoff seeding.

Saints Smash competed in NACE spring play with crew battles against Michigan State University. Unfortunately, saints dropped the series, taking five stocks while losing 12. The loss drops Saints Smash to 0-3 in league play, with a meeting against Cleary University set for next Thursday at 7 pm.
