The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced the 2021 Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athletes and NAIA Scholar Team awards. The Siena Heights Competitive Dance Program had six student-athletes and their 2021-2022 team earn these distinctions.
In order to be nominated for the NAIA Scholar-Athlete, an individual must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, must appear on the eligibility certificate for the sport, and have attended two full years as a non-transfer or one full year as a transfer.
For a team to be awarded, they must have a minimum 3.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale for the academic year. The Saints had the highest competitive dance team GPA in the NAIA.
Earning the award for the Saints was:
Sydney Bramlett (2nd time), senior, theatre major from Canton, Michigan
Aiyanna Fivecoat (1st time), junior, theatre major from Wyandotte, Michigan
Logan Richardson (1st time), senior, nursing major from Davison, Michigan
Bridget Sacca (2nd time), senior, education major from Bloomfield Hills, Michigan
Sierra Tennyson (1st time), junior, theatre major from Howell, Michigan
Emma Winter (1st time), senior, business major from Pinkney, Michigan
The Saints team was honored with their 5th NAIA Scholar Team Award and 3rd straight honor with a 3.73 team GPA. The award has been an honor for 15 years.
