ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights dance team placed third of six dance teams competing in the 2016 NAIA Cheer & Dance East Regional Qualifier, on Saturday.

In the preliminary round, the Saints scored a solid 94.83 points for third.

SHU improved in the final round with a score of 97.67 points, of a possible 120 points.

Per the new NAIA Regional Competition rules, the overall score must be .25 of the preliminary round score and .75 of the final round score. This left the SHU Dance Squad with an overall score of 96.96 for third place.

Also competing in the East Regional Qualifier was Aquinas, Calumet Saint Joseph (Ind.), Concordia, Robert Morris (Ill.) and Saint Ambrose (Iowa).

The runner-up was Aquinas with an overall score of 104.83 while Saint Ambrose (Iowa) took the top-spot scoring 105.29 points overall.
