Baseball Falls to Aquinas in Game Two

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The Siena Heights baseball team's comeback effort fell short in a close game vs Aquinas 11-9. Leading the Saints' at-bat in game two was Kenny Layman going 3-for-4 at the plate, and recording three RBIs. On the mound for the Saints was Brandon Biggerstaff, forcing one strikeout.

The Saints got off to a slow start as Aquinas jumped out to an 8-0 lead after the fourth inning. The Saints then got on the board at the top of the fifth inning, when Adam Wilding recorded an RBI to send Brayden Hill home to make it 8-2 Aquinas. The previous run was scored by Nick Tiller as a result of a Wild Pitch. To end the top of the fifth inning, Kenny Layman hit a two-RBI double to send both Cole VanWasshenova and Adam Wilding home to make it 8-4. 

At the top of the sixth inning, Brayden Hill put the Saints back on the board by hitting an RBI single to send Nick Tiller home to make it 9-5, after Aquinas scored in the previous at-bat. Aquinas then scored two more runs to make it 11-6 to try and pull away but the Saints made it close. To end the scoring for the Saints was Thomas Bakoway, when he hit a Sacrifice Fly RBI to finalize the scoring for the Saints, as the comeback fell just short.
