Baseball Falls to Concordia in First Game, Will Play Again at 4 PM

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The Siena Heights baseball team fell to Concordia in the first game of the WHAC Tournament 5-2. The Saints will be back in action at 4 PM this afternoon, against the losing team in the Aquinas vs Indiana Tech game.

Concordia 5, Siena Heights 2

Leading the Saints at-bat was Cole VanWasshenova going 2-for-3 at the plate. On the mound, Matt Love started the game. Love forced one strikeout while facing 18 batters. Chase Molnar followed Love forcing three strikeouts, facing 17 batters.

Offensively the game started slow in the first two innings. That was until Concordia got hot at the plate, as Concordia scored all five runs at the bottom of the third inning.

At the top of the fifth inning, the Saints scored two runs. The first run was scored when Brayden Hill hit an RBI single to send Nick Tiller home. The second run came after Cole VanWasshenova hit an RBI Sacrafice Fly to send Brayden Hill home. The Saints were unable to score the rest of the game as the comeback effort fell short in game one.
