Baseball Drops Pair at UNOH

LIMA, Ohio -- The Siena Heights baseball team fell to UNOH in WHAC double-header action. The Saints lost game one 2-1, and fell in game two 13-4. The Saints will be back in action on Saturday, April, 13th at Lourdes. Game times will be at 1&4 PM. 

 

Game One: UNOH 2, Siena Heights 1 

Adam Wilding, Gino Hutchinson, Thomas Bakoway, and Brayden Hill all recorded one hit in game one. In the second inning, Adam Wilding hit a sacrifice fly to send Kenny Layman home to tie the game at one. UNOH scored one more run to win game one, 2-1. 

On the mound, Brandon Biggerstaff played three innings forcing two strikeouts while facing 14 batters. 

 

Game Two: UNOH 13, Siena Heights 4 

Thomas Bakoway and Nick Tiller led the Saints in batting as they both recorded two hits going 2-for-4. At the top of the first, Kenny Layman put the Saints on the board first when Layman hit a single RBI to left field to send Adam Wilding home. In the bottom of the first, UNOH gained the lead to go up 3-1. 

In the top of the third, Cole VanWasshenova hit an RBI double to left field to send Gino Hutchinson home to pull the Saints within one at 3-2. At the top of the fourth, the Saints found themselves down 5-2. Thomas Bakoway then homered to left field to pull SHU to within two at 5-3. To end the scoring for the Saints, Thomas Bakoway hit a sacrifice fly, sending Adam Wilding home to put the Saints back within two at 6-4. The Racers then scored seven straight runs to end the game to fall in game two. 

On the mound, Tim Polidor forced one strikeout facing twelve batters, and relief pitcher Ryan King faced eight batters forcing one strikeout.
