ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The Siena Heights baseball team finished its suspended game against WHAC opponent Concordia on Tuesday, falling 7-6. The Saints had led 3-1 entering the day.
Cole VanWasshenova finished the game 3-for-5 with a double, run and RBI. Aidan Grinstead (double) was 2-for-4 with an RBI and Kenny Layman added a double.
Relief pitcher Garret Smith threw three innings of scoreless relief. Adam Wilding was the losing pitcher as he started on Saturday and then continued on Tuesday.
The Saints took a 3-0 lead Saturday in the second inning on an RBI single by Grinstead and two-run play in which Matt Love had an RBI on a fielder's choice.
Concordia pulled within 3-1 before the game was suspended due to weather.
SHU added to its lead on Tuesday on an RBI double by VanWasshenova. CUAA responded with a 6-run fourth inning to take a 7-4 lead and then held on the rest of the way.
Brayden Hill drove in a run in the seventh and Thomas Bakoway plated the Saints' sixth run with a sacrifice fly.
SHU will return to play on Friday and Sunday with four games at WHAC opponent Cleary.
