Baseball Swept in DH by Aquinas

ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights baseball team were swept by WHAC opponent Aquinas, 7-0 and 11-4, on Sunday at the McLaughlin Baseball Field.

The Saints (9-31, 6-22) will play again on Wednesday when they host Point Park for a 1 p.m. non-conference twinbill.

Game one: Aquinas 7, SHU 0

Thomas Bakoway (double) and Cole VanWasshenova had the Saints' only two hits.

Chase Molnar pitched all seven innings for SHU. He was charged with only three earned runs on 12 hits. Molnar totaled four strikeouts and one walk.

Aquinas took the lead with a four-run third inning and tacked on single runs in the fourth, fifth and seventh innings.

Game two: Aquinas 11, SHU 4

Jacob Jackson homered and Bakoway doubled for the Siena Heights offense.

Jackson's solo homer cut into an Aquinas lead, pulling SHU within 3-1 in the second. Aquinas built on its lead after that, scoring two runs in the fourth and six in the fifth.

Nick Tiller had an RBI groundout. SHU added solo runs in the sixth and ninth for the game's final runs.
