Baseball Goes Down Twice at Madonna

LIVONIA, Mich. -- The Siena Heights baseball team lost a pair of WHAC contest to Madonna on Sunday. Scores were 25-2 and 20-6.

The Saints (8-26, 5-17) will compete next on Tuesday when they host Lourdes at the SHU Baseball Diamond.

 

Game one: Madonna 25, SHU 2

The Saints scored their only two runs in the sixth inning. Adam Wilding had a sacrifice fly and Thomas Lamnek contributed an RBI single.

Haydn Smith added a triple to the SHU effort.

Madonna busted out the power-hitting in the opener, connecting for four home runs during a 10-run first inning. The Crusanders had nine round-trippers in the game.

 

Game two: Madonna 20, SHU 6

Cole VanWasshenova led the Saints, going 3-for-3 with a homer and two RBI. Jacob Jackson doubled and scored two runs.

Siena Heights had a trio of two-run innings. In the second, Anthony Scali had an RBI groundout and Parker Mabe connected for an RBI single.

VanWasshenova blasted a two-run homer in the fourth. During the fifth, Smith had a sac fly and Matt Scally drove in a run via groundout.
