Baseball Drops Pair Against Cleary

ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights baseball team suffered a pair of losses, 2-1 and 8-2, to WHAC opponent Cleary on Saturday at the SHU Baseball Diamond.

The Saints (8-24, 5-15) are scheduled to play again on Sunday when they visit Madonna for a conference doubleheader.

 

Game one: Cleary 2, SHU 1

SHU trailed 2-0 heading into the seventh inning and had runners on second and third when the final out was recorded.

Matt Love plated the game's only run with an RBI single in the seventh.

Nick Tiller had two hits for the Siena Heights offense and Thomas Bakoway hit a double.

Ben Weadock provided a solid start on the hill, giving up two runs on five hits while finishing with three strikeouts and four walks.

Cleary scored single runs in the first and fifth innings.

 

Game two: Cleary 8, SHU 2

Siena Heights played catchup from the beginning after falling behind 5-0 through two innings.

Parker Mabe had an RBI single to cut into the deficit in the third. Cleary then stretched its lead to 8-1 before the Saints scratched across their final run via wild pitch in the ninth.

Bakoway and Haydn Smith had doubles for SHU.
