Baseball Falls in 10-Inning Thriller To Lourdes

ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights baseball team erased a late six-run deficit to force extra innings before falling to Lourdes, 13-10, in 10 innings on Wednesday at the SHU Baseball Diamond.

Adam Wilding totaled three hits while Brayden Hill, Cole VanWasshenova, Parker Mabe and Nick Tiller contributed two hits apiece to the Saints' effort. Hill and Thomas Bakoway finished with three RBI apiece.

Doubles were recorded by Hill, Wilding, Bakoway, Mabe and Tiller. Love and Wilding had triples.

The Saints had erased a 10-4 deficit with six runs in the eighth inning before the contest went into extras. Lourdes' Ryan Jagodzinski blasted a three-run homer for the game's decisive blow in the 10th.

SHU fell behind 4-0 in the second inning and answered with a pair of runs in its half of the second. Bakoway had a sacrifice fly and Tiller delivered an RBI double.

Wilding had an RBI single in the sixth and Love drilled an RBI triple in the seventh.

Chase Molnar was Siena Heights' starting pitcher with six strikeouts and two walks. He allowed six runs on seven hits in 5 2/3 innings.

The Saints will return to play on Saturday with a 1 p.m. WHAC home doubleheader against Cleary.
