YPSILANTI, Mich. -  Siena Heights baseball started the week with a trip to Ypsilanti to face NCAA Division I Eastern Michigan University. The Saints fell short in the battle losing 14-1, bringing their overall record to 15-25.

Cole VanWasshenova led for Siena, batting.500 while crossing home plate once. Both Kenny Layman and Jakob Scroggie had one hit and reached base once on walks. Chris Winkelman's good eye earned him a walk during the game. Brad South started pitching for SHU, facing 14 batters in two innings. Christian Jabiro (L, 1-5) saw action in the fifth inning, seeing eight opponents and striking out one.

Siena Heights put four batters on base throughout the first four innings, unable to bring any runners home. The home team scored seven runs in the opening four innings to leave the score 7-0 going into the fifth.

The top of the sixth saw VanWasshenova reach first on a single towards shortstops. Then, Cameron Hammer advanced VanWasshenova to third on a single through the right side. As Layman was in the batter's box, EMU threw a wild pitch that allowed VanWasshenova to cross the plate for SHU's only run of the afternoon.

Siena Heights saw one stolen base, three hits, and 22 at-bats and left eight runners on base during the game in the loss to the Eagles.
