Lake Wales, Fla. – Day two action consisted of one game for the Siena Heights Saints baseball team, as they competed in a 12:30 p.m. game against the Grand View Vikings. SHU fell 6-4 to the Vikings in the nine-inning contest.

Kenny Layman went 1-3, bringing in one run during Sunday's game. Cole VanWasshenova saw four at-bats, earning a walk and putting the ball into play another. The sophomore scored two runs to lead the blue and yellow in that category. John Miller started for SHU, pitching 3.2 innings, while Chase Molnar finished up the game pitching 4.1 innings that consisted of three strikeouts and only five total hits from the opposition.

SHU drew first blood in the top of the 2nd-inning with a solid crack of the bat from Thomas Lamnek, who singled to left and recorded an RBI in the books by bringing Layman in to score. The bottom of the third inning saw a defensive error on the Saints' side that resulted in the first score for Grand View.

The score remained 1-1 going into the bottom of the 4th-inning until a bunt from the Vikings resulted in a run to put the score at 2-1. Another single put runners on first and second. A two-RBI single pushed the lead to 4-1 before a double increased the advantage by another run. A double to right field brought in the fifth run of half inning and pushed the margin to 6-1.

VanWasshenova walked in the top of the sixth before stealing second. Collin Hammer drilled a single out to left-center, bringing in a score. Siena's defense held strong with a three-up-three-down bottom of the sixth.

SHU rallied in the eight-inning with hits from VanWasshenova and Wilding. Layman was hit by a pitch to load the bases with no outs. Hammer cashed in, hitting a single to bring in VanWasshenova for his second RBI of the contest. Chris Winkleman then hit a single to bring in Adam Wilding for a two-run inning. Unfortunately, back-to-back strikeouts ended the game before the Saints could complete the rally.
